DAVID WANG
Composer, Musician, Electrical Enthusiast
David Wang is a 9th semester, Australian student at Berklee College of Music majoring in Bachelor of Music in Composition and Electronic Production and Design. His started his music journey in elementary school learning classical piano. He was able to obtain grade 8 in classical piano as he progresses, but as it became increasingly competitive, he learned marimba in high school. He joined multiple ensembles and developed an interest in composition. He then composed a few pieces for the local ensembles he was in. David decided to study Composition and Electronic Production and Design to refine his crafts in composition and explore the world of music technology.
Since young, David pursued a hobby in electronics and built various devices from self-taught knowledge. It gives him an extra field of potential in engineering. Thus, after Berklee, David is planning to apply for master’s in electrical engineering. His efforts throughout his academic journeys are reflected in his excellence, making him a capable candidate in fields of music and engineering.
At Berklee, David learned composing for orchestra, chamber ensembles, solos, choir, and for film. He also learned to create both hardware and software instruments, plugins, effects, recording and mixing techniques in EPD. This allows him to explore a wide and broad area in his future opportunities.
David looks forward to creating innovative ideas in music through the use of technology, without losing the authentic sound of his true self. He believes there are always more to explore in the world of creativity.
